GE's broil heating element (WB44T10009) is designed to fit in ovens, stoves or ranges.
Most ovens have two separate heating elements, with one being designed primarily for baking and the other for broiling.
While the bake heating unit is generally found towards the bottom of the oven, the broil element is fastened to the top interior of the appliance, a position that allows it to be in close proximity to foods on the top rack.
