Prepare Your Home for a Smooth Appliance Installation

IMPORTANT: Why This Checklist Matters

Our delivery team is not authorized to disconnect existing appliances due to liability concerns. If your old appliance is not disconnected before we arrive, installation cannot be completed and a return visit will need to be scheduled for an additional fee. Please complete this checklist to avoid delays.

1. General Preparation

ALL APPLIANCES

  • An adult (18+) must be present during delivery.
Someone must be available to sign for the delivery and guide the team.
  • Clear a path from your front door to the installation area.
Remove furniture, rugs, toys, and any obstacles. Measure doorways to confirm the appliance will fit.
  • Secure all pets behind closed doors.
Our team will be entering and exiting your home frequently with heavy equipment.
  • Ensure secure parking is available for our delivery truck.
Please reserve a spot close to your entrance if possible.
  • Verify the model number, color, and fuel type match your order.
Check your order confirmation email before delivery day.

2. Disconnect Your Old Appliance

REQUIRED

  • Unplug the old appliance from the electrical outlet.
Make sure the power cord is fully disconnected and accessible.
  • Turn off and disconnect the water supply (if applicable).
Close the shut-off valve and disconnect the water line. Have towels ready for residual water.
  • Turn off the gas shut-off valve (if applicable).
For gas ranges, dryers, or cooktops. If unsure, contact a licensed professional.
  • Empty the appliance completely.
Remove all food, dishes, clothes, or standing water from the old unit.
  • Move the old appliance away from the wall if possible.
This helps our team access the area and speeds up the process.

3. Verify Your Connections Are Ready

  • Electrical outlet is the correct type and voltage for the new appliance.
    Refrigerators/Dishwashers: 110V 3-prong | Ranges/Dryers: 220V/240V outlet.
  • Water shut-off valve is accessible and in working condition (if needed).
Must be within 6 ft. of the appliance, corrosion-free, with a metal connection.
  • Gas shut-off valve is accessible and operational (if gas appliance).
Must be located directly behind the appliance with no leaks.
  • Dryer venting is in place (if applicable).
Semi-rigid or rigid duct connected to external venting. No plastic ducts.
